Wings of Fire #15: The Flames of Hope

What's The Story?

In this fiery finale of the Lost Continent Prophecy arc, Luna is ready to save the world—or at least give it her best shot! She’s always dreamed of being a hero, but now that dragons and humans are facing ultimate doom, the stakes are higher than ever. With her unique power to spin flaming silk, Luna returns to Pantala, rallying friends (and even some foes) to battle the evil lurking beneath their land. But saving a continent isn't as easy as a prophecy might make it sound! Luna will need every ounce of bravery and a few secrets if she’s going to rescue her world from the brink.

Series Summary: Wings of Fire by Tui T. Sutherland takes you into the fiery land of Pyrrhia, where young dragons—known as dragonets—are prophesied to end a generations-long war. But these dragonets are more about finding snacks and avoiding trouble than fulfilling prophecies. Enter the Talons of Peace, a shady secret organization that "hatches" a plan: they collect five dragonets from rival tribes, hide them in a cave, and train them to stop the war...eventually.

Our reluctant heroes include Clay, a loveable MudWing with a huge heart; Tsunami, a fierce SeaWing with a splashy attitude; Starflight, a brainy NightWing who knows too much (or maybe not enough); Glory, a sarcastic RainWing who’s way cooler than she looks; and Sunny, a SandWing with big dreams and even bigger optimism. Together, they wrestle with a choice: break free and forge their own destiny or live up to the weighty prophecy they never asked for.

With themes of friendship, diversity, and some surprisingly cute dragon crushes, this series combines action and heart. Addictive and well-written, Wings of Fire has become a fan-favorite, complete with spin-off novellas, prequels, and even a Netflix adaptation in the works. So grab your dragon wings—it’s going to be a fiery ride!

Kids who enjoy Percy Jackson and the Olympians, Harry Potter, Warriors, and How to Train Your Dragon are likely to enjoy Wings of Fire. These series share elements like epic quests, rich fantasy worlds, complex friendships, and relatable characters facing challenges of identity, loyalty, and courage.

Fans of Warriors by Erin Hunter, in particular, will find similar themes of tribal conflicts, loyalty, and the exploration of fate versus choice in Wings of Fire. Additionally, young readers drawn to stories featuring magical creatures or fantasy worlds, such as The Land of Stories or The Last Kids on Earth, would also find Wings of Fire captivating.
